2017 was a lot of things, but instead of thinking of it as the year I almost died in a terrorist attack, I like to think I’ll always remember it as “that year I got two designer bags”. You don’t understand, I’m not one of those bloggers who gets sent designer merchandise worth thousands every month and let’s take the fact that I am currently job hunting (read: not earning) out of the equation, because I don’t think I could save up for an expensive bag on my own given my current spending habits.

This is a HUGE deal for me. I’m pretty sure I have just peaked at life and everyday I feel so incredibly grateful for the people who love me enough to spoil me even though I feel like I really, really don’t deserve it.

If you follow me on Instagram or have read my last blog post, you’ll see that James bought me a stunning Mulberry bag earlier this year which was black, beautiful, wonderfully oversized (perfect for popping my laptop in for blogging on the go), perfect in every way and just basically one of my most treasured posessions.

Recently, however, my mum was visiting us and bought me an early Christmas present – a stunning little black Gucci Marmont metalasse bag (which, apparently, is the bag of the year – how cool!) which is small enough for days when you don’t want / need to tote round everything but the kitchen sink and is just perfect for evenings out when you want your hands free to hold that glass of Champagne.

I’m not gonna lie, ya girl had a really hard time picking between sensible black and playful red, but in the end I decided to go with the one which matched each and every one of my party outfits this time of year (which let me tell you, is a LOT). But hey, here’s to new spending habits in 2018 – I may just save up and go back for the red, too.

My favourite thing about this nifty little number is that it has a striking dull gold metal Gucci logo on one side, but on the other side, is a suble and understated Gucci logo in black stitching, for days you don’t want to look particularly extra.

I feel like I’m walking on a cloud RN. This is what they must call a #PinchMeMoment. Feeling thankful every single day to be treated like a queen by my wonderful family – I don’t deserve them. I hope you all have a wonderful build up to Christmas – I’m excited to be sharing some amazing Christmas content with you over the next few weeks, so stay tuned. See you at the next post, which, by the way, you DO NOT want to miss! 😉 xx
