Fangirling So Hard – The New Mulberry Zipped Bayswater Bag

A friend of mine is getting married soon and wanted to hit up Selfridges to buy a pair of Louboutin’s or Jimmy Choo’s for the big day. Obviously I was more than happy to tag along.

While we were browsing, out of curiosity (and because I have a birthday coming up), I decided to check our the bag department, as one does. Let’s face it, its impossible to walk by without stopping for a little “ooh’ and “aah”.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect big black structured handbag for the longest time and bounced between the Philip Lim 3.1 Pashli Satchel and the Celine Luggage Tote for the longest time (obviously, not actually being able to afford either, but hey, a girl can dream).

But, then we walked into the Mulberry section and there it was – the most perfect black structured bag of all time! The second I saw her, I knew I was done for. Newly introduced for 2017, they’ve re-invented the classic Bayswater into an edgy, sexy beast of a bag I haven’t been able to get out of my mind since! Oh, how my heart flutters each time I think of her!

In fact, I don’t usually fall hard in lust with designer purchases. The last time I felt this giddy and wanted an item this badly was when I was in Barcelona in the summer of 2011 and had just spotted then newly launched Pada Minimal Baroque sunglasses for the very first time. They then went on to become my signature pair and I’m hoping this bag will, too.

I’ve already made up my mind that I’m going to start saving hard to make this baby mine by the end of the year. I’m particularly partial to the black croc design because my grandmother always carried a croc handbag and they say I’m more like her than I’d like to let on. But its just makes me feel a little closer to the fiercely independent women in my family and like I’m continuing the legacy in a small way as a millennial in 2o17 would.

What do you think of the bag? I swoon each time I see her, but is it worth the price? I’d love to hear your thoughts to help me make a decision, so leave me a comment in the box below! See you at the next post! xx
